Nico Rosberg: "Other major progress"

Two races before the end of the season: It's time to take stock. Nico Rosberg not everything looks bad at Mercedes. There are reasons for the reverse to mid season. The developments also all precisely arrived at the circuit. "Unfortunately others made more progress than we."
For Mercedes, it could be more closely. The team of the silver arrows can feel the hot breath of clean. When the Confederates make up 13 points, passes fifth place in the constructors Cup in the Switzerland. "We must create it here", calls for clean team manager beat Zehnder. "This is our track layout. In Interlagos anything can happen again."
It would be actually an indictment of a team like Mercedes, it would have to be behind clean. Nevertheless, the management and the driver see also positive approaches. "Was good first of all, that we have entered a much better car in the season than in previous years," Michael Schumacher admits. Nico Rosberg adds: "In Shanghai and Monte Carlo, we had the best car in the field."
But then came the development ground to a halt. Others made good ground, Mercedes resigned on the spot. Rosberg said: "this is exactly the phase where we have to built our wind tunnel by 50 to 60 percent models. This took time, and exactly at this stage we have made so much progress." Ross Brawn admits: "That has thrown back more us than thought."
The quality of the tools but not doubting Mercedes driver Rosberg. "All stages of development have works, exactly, as it was forecast. Our car has been fast since Melbourne about a second, but unfortunately the other cars have become even faster. That's why we back slipped."
Rosberg is the accusation that the Mercedes AMGW03 is too complicated, and that one is shot the one or the other own goal thus, only partly apply. "We have lots of great ideas, and perhaps that is an or other complicated also." But if the base of the car would be better, we would not talk about such issues."
For 2013, Rosberg sees better times approached break even when he is confronted with the allegation, to be an incurable optimist. "It must simply fold next year. I see no reason why not. We have a mega skills in the team, and we had a period of three years, plenty to learn. "If not now, when then."
The team is still trying to learn. A part of this process will take place in the Friday practice session. Nico Rosberg starts with a car without Coanda exhaust, Michael Schumacher in the version with the pipes in the side boxes. "We want to collect data and experience, to better understand the differences", explained team boss Ross Brawn. The general development directive is clear, however: it goes towards Coanda.
